Listed below are funding programs for projects related to the Los Angeles River and for local artists looking to obtain grants to pursue locally focused art projects.

RMC PROPOSITION 1 GRANT PROGRAM
LOWER LOS ANGELES RIVER

On-Going Call For Projects: APPLY NOW

Priorities for RMC Prop 1:

  1. Ecosystems and watershed protection and restoration projects,

  2. Protect and enhance the Lower LA River,

  3. Expand access to diverse populations,

  4. Secured matching funds

Over $30 Million is available through RMC Prop 1 for the Lower LA River grant applications on a rolling basis.

RMC’s Lower LA River Grants are specific to the Lower LA River corridor, considered within 1.5 miles of the main stem of the Lower LA River. 90% of available funding is for project Implementation, and 10% of funding for is for planning. Projects should be consistent with the Lower LA River Revitalization Plan.

Small (less than $300k) and Very Small Grants (less than $50k) are available through a more simplified application/review process.

  2. Provide workforce development opportunities,

  3. Expand access to diverse populations,

  4. Secured matching funds

Over $30 Million is available through RMC Prop 68 for the Lower LA River grant applications on a rolling basis.

RMC’s Lower LA River Grants are specific to the Lower LA River corridor, considered within 1.5 miles of the main stem of the Lower LA River. 80% of available funding is for Implementation, 10% of funding is for planning, and 10% of funding is for technical assistance. Projects should be consistent with the Lower LA River Revitalization Plan.

CITY OF SOUTH GATE FREE VIRTUAL ART WORKSHOPS

OPEN CALL TO ARTISTS: SOUTH GATE ARTIST REGISTRY

The City of South Gate is creating an artist registry. The registry is a database of artists interested in working on projects with the City of South Gate. Artists on the list will be eligible for future projects within the city limits.  Artists in South Gate, SELA (Southeast Los Angeles) and LA County are encouraged to apply. 

Projects may range from public art commissions to murals, exhibitions, art classes for the public and special events. The database will be maintained by the Cultural Arts Coordinator.
